The Animal Health Trust has begun the development of a state-of-the-art cancer centre for animals here at Lanwades Park. Our brand new facility will treat horses, dogs and cats. It also aims to further knowledge and understanding of cancer, not only on animals, but also in people. For more information on our cancer centre and how you can join the fight, please click here.
Sunday 27th November was our last weekend opening day until spring 2012. This includes the Stable Yard Coffee Shop and gift shop as well as the gardens and walks. We plan to open again at weekends in March next year, so please keep an eye on our website to see the exact date. However, the gift shop and coffee shop will remain open Monday – Friday through to midday on 23rd December, so you have the opportunity to purchase AHT Christmas cards and other gifts, as well as enjoying a delicious piece of homemade cake and freshly brewed coffee!
We will be building on the great start that we made during 2011 to reopen again in 2012 and will update the website during this process.
We have been very lucky to have been loaned two of the painted horses that were a feature of Newmarket for so many months. Steve and Caroline Shore have loaned us Wizard by Esther Albone and Sea The Stars by Stuart Roy. They are now in pride of place just outside the front door to the Visitors Centre. Please come and see them!
Inside our Visitors Centre, you will find our Gift Shop and the Stable Yard Coffee Shop . Our Visitors Centre is open Monday - Friday from 9.30am to 4.30pm. Please come and pay a visit to this ‘hidden gem’, as it has been described by many of our visitors.
Within our Visitors Centre courtyard we are offering plants for sale. These plants have all been grown by our green fingered volunteers and staff! To complement these, we are also selling a small range of terracotta pots and other gardening accessories.

Become a volunteer at Lanwades Park. We can only operate with the help and assistance of a team of dedicated and willing volunteers. We are always looking for volunteers to help us in the Visitors Centre or in the grounds. |
